The parking is very good here. I live closer to the Fraser street No Frills but its almost always sold out of the specials in the flyer... this one is much more likely to still have some of the items from the flyer.
I love their business model. They don't overstock and by the evening, a lot of items are sold out. If that's what keeps the costs down, I'm not complaining. For example, the price of a 2 litre carton almond milk here is about $1 cheaper than at most grocery stores in the city. Their produce is not that great (especially tomatoes), so I pick and choose what I want from the store. I have a list of things that I always get from No Frills and there are certain things that I would never get from No Frills. Since the savings is so great here I don't mind having to go to another grocery store to finish my shopping.
Used to be OK but getting worse by the month. It more and more feels like shopping in a third world country there.A lot of the staff, especially the male staff now, clearly come from cultures where respect and good customer service is not a priority or unheard of. Shame, these were always qualities I valued in this country.They block customers' way for minutes without noticing anything, bump into you without apologizing, throw food around... It even got to the point that I had to say something to a young guy filling the cooler shelves by throwing the food packages around, which, as a consequence, fell out and had to be picked up by him repeatedly. When I asked him not to throw the food around that people buy and eat he didn't even react.Sorry, not even the somewhat lower prices can make me accept that disrespectful attitude and shop there again. The female staff is generally friendly and more respectful, but it looks like the store's policy is now catering to the young international student crowd who don't care or don't know any better.
Not all No Frills are created equal, and this is definitely one of the better ones on the west side. We come over the bridge to shop here specifically. Spacious and bright, its way more comfortable to shop at than the one in the West End. (Which, interestingly, has jacked its prices up on a lot of items following the closure of the Davie Safeway.)Prices on staples are good, they have a really good selection of ethnic foods and the produce is fresh. Good prices but not much else. The best place locally to stock up your pantry if they actually have stock but go elsewhere for your meat and produce, the quality of both is bad.Edit: Price increase and quality decrease. This store has gone from bad to worse. Mouldy produce, rotten salad, rancid meat, and empty shelves. Yet they've still increased prices on pretty much everything. Avoid this place, I will be doing from now on.
