I ate here with guests from Mexico. I wanted to take them somewhere local, and this restaurant delivered. The food was very good, and showcased the high quality of the ingredients (Amazing fresh salmon). The seasoning was subtle, as it should be with ingredients that good. The indigenous art also added to the experience. We were delighted to discover that the server was a visual artist. The price was fair for the quality of food. It's not a cheap restaurant, but then quality ingredients aren't cheap.

Salmon n Bannock Bistro is absolutely one of the best and most unique restaurants in Vancouver! The restaurant was very intimate and cozy with all the First Nations artwork and decor. The Owner, Manager, and Server were all very kind and friendly and enjoyed discussing all the unique First Nations menu items. Yes, this Bistro is the one and only First Nations restaurant in Vancouver! The smoked eulochon fish appetizer my wife and I started with was incredibly well smoked and highly recommended! The very nice and unique sampler platter included venison prosciutto and elk salami, cheddar cheese wedges, and bannock, along with a blueberry/fruit jelly and an amazing Cedar jelly made from Eastern White Cedar leaves. We then shared a bison pot roast entree, which was super tender and delicious for such a lean meat, and was accompanied with a standard fare of mashed potatoes and grilled broccoli and cauliflower. We then finished our meal with the most phenomenal salted caramel cheesecake we ever had that was loaded with caramel and soft cheese that just melted in our mouths! The Salmon n Bannock Bistro offers not only incredibly wonderful and unique First Nation food, but also the best dining experience in Vancouver! So if youre in Vancouver and looking for something different than the typical seafood and Asian dining, this is THE restaurant to thoroughly enjoy!

Delicious First Nations tastes, great service, and cozy ambiance. It's well worth making reservations! Food was very well prepared and arrived quickly. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu selections, and she helped us pick out a nice local wine. You have to try the rhubarb cheesecake!

Wow where do I start, the food was amazing! We were a little early but they sat us right down. For the main entree, I got the wild boar belly and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. It was so enjoyable to eat some local native cuisine and have such great tasting food. I cannot say enough nice things about the place. The staff was very friendly, courteous, and attentive. I thought the prices were very reasonable and the portions were small but fair given the quality and how exotic the food was. My girlfriend is a vegetarian so she only got a salad but really enjoyed it. The place is small but cozy and has a nice atmosphere. Give this place a try and you will not be disappointed!

This restaurant is serious about its sea food. A limited changing menu ensures quality. Bannock is unleavened bread originally made by the First nation people. Recommended to try. Their alcohol drinks menu is limited. Good friendly service. Cosy place so reservations is a good idea. Good value for money overall.
