There is nothing outlandishly terrible about this hotel except the price. I paid just over $800 for two nights, to be in a mediocre place, with a sub par bathroom (the floorspace was smaller than a bathmat!) with old worn out furnishing. The plumbing barely worked. And the rewards program at Holiday Inn is the WORST! They deleted all my points because I hadn't stayed with them in a year. Talk about bogus. I'll do anything to not stay here again in the future. Best Western all the way.
Absolutely won't find a better bunch of employees at any other hotel in Vancouver! They are a wonderful hotel that constantly goes out of their way to ensure your stay is pure perfection. It starts with the doorman as you enter and he has been there for years. He is polite and easy on the eyes. He just brightens everyone's day. The front desk employees are all awesome. The restaurant has amazing food....whether it's breakfast or dinner. If you visit....you must see Jessie or Candy in the restaurant. They are the perfect duo. Jessie was recently awarded employee of the year! Kris the manager.....is the most kind hearted person I have met. He is very quiet but he really is attentive to hotel guests. He is genuine. This hotel will not disappoint you. The new decor is gorgeous. It is central to everything downtown has to offer. By far, this is our favorite hotel!
Good stay with great attentive staff. It's quite obviously an older hotel that has been renovated quite nicely. The access to many of the rooms is strange with little half flights of stairs to be traversed after the lifts.Location is quite good although we haven't yet explored enough to know whether all of Vancouver is peppered with a fairly large proportion of unstable people in the streets or if it's just around the hotel.Hotel restaurant is about half the size it needs to be and looks like a small Cafe. Breakfast on the weekend had a 20min wait so we skipped our and tested out a few of the local cars of which they're are plenty.Overall a good experience and priced well.
This hotel is in the heart of downtown near the bars and nightlife. The concierge was quick, polite, and attentive. There is on site parking with in and out privileges for a flat daily fee. The building is older but well maintained. The room itself was spacious and clean. The air conditioning unit kept the room at a comfortable temperature but was a bit noisy. I enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it to anyone visiting the downtown area.
This hotel is located in a central area of downtown that is accessible to many stores and shops and entertainment. You can walk just about wherever you want to go. Rooms are also nice and clean. Haven't had much interaction with staff, however everyone seems pleasant. Rental car agency was very helpful and accommodating and provided a minivan at compact car rates because the compact car originally reserved had not been returned yet.
